CME Group is a global derivatives marketplace based in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It was formed in 2007 when the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) merged with the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), and later with the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and the Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

CME Group operates a diverse range of global futures, options, and derivatives markets, including interest rates, equity indexes, foreign exchange, agricultural commodities, energy, and metals. The company provides trading, clearing, and settlement services to a wide range of clients, including institutional and individual traders, hedgers, and commodity producers and consumers.

CME Group is the world’s largest derivatives exchange, handling an average daily volume of more than 21 million contracts worth approximately $1.1 quadrillion in notional value in 2020. The company operates exchanges in North America, Europe, and Asia and has offices in cities around the world.
